GDC Partners with Right to Play

July 27, 2016

Hazelton, BC – October 13, 2015 Gitxsan Development Corporation (GDC) is pleased to announce that it has partnered with Right to Play to bring sport-based youth programming to communities in the Gitxsan Region of British Columbia.

Right To Play trains local Community Mentors to help children and youth make healthy living decisions through programing that teaches respect for self and others, promotes fair play, goal setting, leadership skills, effective communication strategies and teamwork. With very limited sports amenities and activities in the region GDC believes this program will play a major role in supporting the children and youth in region.

"This program reflects our commitment to community engagement, focusing on its most important asset – the children and youth”, said Connors. “By bringing Right to Play to the Gitxsan Region, we’re looking at the bigger picture supporting what young people need to build a healthier and happier future – the power of sports and play is a huge factor.”
